Patron Archbishop George Njaralakatt was born on 23.06.1946 at Arakuzha in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam (now in the diocese of Kothamangalam). He had his Elementary School studies at Arakuzha. He completed SSLC in 1963 at St. Thomas High School, Nadavayal and he was admitted in St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, Tellichery by Bishop Mar Sebastian Valloppilly. He did his philosophy and theology at St. Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary at Mangalapuzha, Aluva. He was ordained priest for the diocese of Tellichery by Bishop Mar Sebastian Valloppilly on 20.12.1971 in St. Joseph’s Cathedral Church, Tellichery. He holds a BA degree from the University of Mysore. He took Licentiate in Catechetical Theology from Pontifical Salesian University, Rome, in 1983-86.
On 29.08.2014 Bishop Mar Njaralakatt was elected by the Holy Synod of Syro Malabar Church as the Metropolitan Archbishop of Tellicherry as Archbishop Mar George Valiamttam tended his resignation upon reaching retirement age. Bishop Njaralakatt was installed as the Archbishop on 30.10.2014 and assumed office on the same day. He is the direct heir of the patrimony of Tellicherry as he was ordained a priest by the legendary first bishop of Tellicherry, Mar Sebastian Valloppilly of happy memory (1953-1989) and a bishop by Mar George Valiamttam, the second bishop (1989-1995) and first archbishop (1995-2014) of Tellicherry.
Mar (Dr) Joseph Pamplany, is the 4th Chairman of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) and Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research (VJIM) from 2019 May 14 onwards.
After the ordination (30 th December 1997) he served at St. Joseph’s Forane Church, Peravoor and St. Thomas Church, Deepagiri, Kannur.
He has obtained M.A in religious Studies from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2001, and Licentiate and Ph.D in Sacred Scripture in 2006 from the same university. He also holds P.G. Diploma in German, Hebrew and Greek languages.
He was the Director of Bible Apostolate, Thalassery. He is the founder director of Alpha Institute of Theology and Science, an institution for the theological formation of lay people. He has been teaching Sacred Scripture in St. Joseph’s Pontifical Institute, Alwaye, Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kunnoth, St. Peter’s Seminary, Bangalore and Divine Bible College, Muringoor. He is working as research guide in various ecclesiastical Universities and institutions.
Mar Joseph Pamplany is a well known writer and versatile orator. He has published more than 30 books, 40 research articles in national and international publications and more than 250 articles in regional Malayalam periodicals. He has membership in the editorial bodies of many academic publications. He has presented many research papers in international and national seminars. As a retreat preacher he has preached about 1000+ retreats to bishops, priests, religious and laity groups. He was the secretary of CBCI Commission for Doctrine; Secretary, CBCI Commission for Inter Ritual Text Books; Member, FABC Theology Commission; Member, Doctrinal Commission of KCBC and Syro-Malabar Synod and Member, text book committee of the Mystagogical Catechesis of the Syro-Malabar Synod.
He was elected by the Holy Synod of the Syro-Malabar Church as the first auxiliary bishop of Tellicherry and his Episcopal consecration held on 8 th November 2017. He is serving as the Chairman, KCBC Media Commission and member of Doctrinal Commission. He is the Auxiliary Bishop and Proto-Syncellus of Archdiocese of Thlassery.
Rev. Fr James Chellamkottu, is Manager of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) and Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research (VJIM) from 2019 May 14 onwards .
His academic research was on the ‘Technology Adoption of the Educators’ from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore (2021) and his MBA graduation was with a dual specialization in Finance and marketing from Rajagiri School of Management under MG University, Kottayam (2008). He is a post-graduate diploma holder in Human Resource Management and possesses a UGC NET qualification in Management (2008). He was working as the Administrator and Associate Professor in this institute during 2010-2019. He was also served at the Vimal Jyothi Engineering College as the Administrator in HR Department 2008-2019 and has more than 3 years of teaching experience in Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Chemperi under the Applied Science and Humanities Department. He is a Catholic Priest incardinated with the Archdiocese of Thalassery and possesses four years of administrative and pastoral experience within the parishes of the same Archdiocese. His areas of academic interest are HRM, HRPD, HRD, Insurance & risk management, Business ethics, RM and effectively involved in organization building, recruiting and staffing functions, strategy formulation, advertisement and branding of the institutions, ERP solutions and technology implementation. His research areas are technology adoption, digital learning environments, teacher engagement.
Fr. George Asarikunnel is the Fourth Bursar of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College and Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research, Chemperi. He belongs to Archdiocese of Thalassery. He hails from Kallar Parish, Kasaragod. In his fourteen years of priestly services he served six parishes as a parish priest successfully in Kerala and Karnataka.
Fr. Dr. Thomas Melvettath, is the 3 rd Chairman of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) and Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research (VJIM).
He has a Masters in Theology and earned a doctorate in Catechism from Pontifical Salesian University, Rome in 2002.He is serving Syro-Malabar Catechetical Commission and Catechism Expert Committee as a member since 2003.
He held many positions during the period 2003 to 2012 as the Director of Sandesbhavan (Pastoral Centre), Thirubalasaghyam, Mission League, AKCC, Vincent De Paul, Archdiocesan Consultant Member and Jagratha-Samithi of Tellicherry Archdiocese. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Forane Vicar in Devamatha Forane Church, Paisakari and extended his service as the Manager of the Devamatha Arts & Science College, Devamatha HSS and Bhagavathpatha ITC. He is a source of unwavering support and inspirationand is dedicated to fulfil the dream of bringing up the institute into a Center of Excellence for Technical Education.

Rev. Dr. George Valiamattom, the Archbishop of Tellicherry, is a far sighted visionary under whose leadership the Vimal Jyothi Institutions are managed. He had his school education at Nariveli and Punnathara and minor seminary studies at St. Mary's Thop, Thrissur, Philosophical Studies at Camelgiri, Aluva and Theological studies at the Propaganda University, Rome. He was awarded doctorate in theology from the Gregorian University, Rome in 1967.
Msgr. Mathew M Chalil, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Tellicherry, is the founder Chairman of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College and the Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research, Chemperi. A post graduate in Sociology, he has been instrumental in transforming the spiritual, social, cultural and educational tenets of Malabar region and has been called the ‘Builder of Modern Chemperi’. He has held various positions both at the church and at the corporate circle. He was Corporate Manager, Tellicherry Diocese for 17 years; Member of the Senate, Calicut University and Treasurer of All Kerala Aided Schools Managers Association, Kerala. He is currently Member, Board of Directors of Deepika; Chairman, Meshar Diocesan Educational Trust; Manager, Nirmalagiri College’ and Chairman, TSSS Community College. He has been conferred several awards of which ‘Mar Kariatty Award 2009’, Akshara Award 2010 and Vaidika Sreshta Award 2010 deserve special mention.
A post graduate in Philosophy and a bachelor degree holder in theology and education, Fr. George Nelluvelil, has been serving the church for about 48 years in various capacities. He is currently the Bursar of Vimal Jyothi Engg. College and Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management & Research, Chemperi.
He served the VJIM as the first director from May 2010 to August 2015. He devoted his time and capabilities for the development of the college as per the vision and mission. Vimal Jyothi Family places its appreciation for his committed service.
He is a Post Graduate in Management & Tourism Management and a doctoral degree holder in Commerce (Management) from Patna University, Patna. He has done FDP at IIM Ahmedabad, QIP at IIT Madras, FDP at EDI, Ahmedabad and SRMDA at IIT Kharagpur. Starting his career with LIC, he moved on to academics and his teaching stint includes 7 years as Coordinator in the Department of Business StudiesPatna Women’s College, Patna and 2 years as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Studies & Tourism Studies at Christ College, Bangalore. He has served Rajagiri School of Management as Associate Professor for 1 year two months and Rajagiri Business School as Professor of Marketing for 3 years two months. He has also served Patna Women’s College as Administrative Officer for Vocational Courses for 3 years from 1994 to1997. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of marketing management, sales and distribution management, consumer behavior, services marketing, industrial marketing, product and brand management, customer relationship management etc.
He is an empanelled Ph.D. guide in Management at Christ University, Bangalore, a part-time External Ph.D. Supervisor of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and is a member of various academic and professional bodies. He has more than 10 years of research experience and has published research papers in national and international journals, presented papers in national and international seminars and has delivered lectures in various colleges. Besides guiding Ph.D. scholars, he has guided M Phil projects and more than 100 MBA projects and dissertations. He also offers consultancy and training in the areas of rural marketing, product and brand management, customer relationship management, supply chain management etc. He is a Sifi Forum Certified Supply Chain Management Professional.
